Union Way

Folks exploring downtown Portland’s fashionable West End and the Pearl District will be delighted to discover Union Way, an arcade connecting the two. Filled with nine businesses, Union Way is more than just a fun way to sneak through from the Ace Hotel to Powell’s Books. The adventurous passageway has a sleek and stylish wooden interior with succulents and skylights.

Hungry? Check out Boxer Ramen at the South end. Then you will be fortified to explore the shops!

Steven Alan is filled with exceptionally high quality essentials for men and women’s wardrobes. Will Leather Goods’ “Homestead Store” offers the finest leather goods from worldwide artisans. Self Edge has the sturdiest and most fashionable denim products you will see anywhere. You can find the perfect T-Shirt at Marine Layer. Spruce Apothecary offers pure and wonderful grooming products for women and men. Danner made the iconic boots that appeared in Wild starring Reese Witherspoon, the story of Portland author Cheryl Strayed’s journey along the Pacific Crest Trail. Danner now sells the boots, calling them Mountain Light Cascade boots.

Want to grab some treats while you are in Union Way? Little T Baker will delight you with their breads, pastries and grab-and-go sandwiches. There are Portland-made goodies, too, at Quin Candy – great for souvenirs!

By the way, Union Way also hosts events for First Thursday, connecting the Portland Art Museum’s events some blocks up 10th Avenue with the festivities happening in the Pearl District. In addition, Union Way is adjacent to Living Room Theater and very close to one of Portland’s most popular food cart pods. Want to travel to another Portland adventure? Union Way is right on the Portland Streetcar route.
