Dining on Portland's SE Division Street

Portland’s Southeast quandrant is known as the Bohemian district. Southeast Division Street, readily accessible from downtown Portland on TriMet’s #4 Bus, is one of the most scrumptious streets to enjoy in Southeast. As you stroll down the recently – and beautifully – developed street, checking out eclectic vintage collectibles and boutique shops, you can also taste some of the best – and most creative – dining that Portland has to offer.

You can savor the delightful drinking foods of Thailand at Whiskey Soda Lounge (3131 SE Division Street), from the makers of the famous Pok Pok wings. While you are there, sip some whiskeys, Thai Iced Tea or Som, their refreshing and healthy house made drinking vinegar! You can also enjoy the beloved wings – one of Portland’s most well-known dishes, which have been mentioned in numerous national culinary magazines and on television programs – roadside style on Division Street (3226 SE Division Street).

Or dive into Little Big Burger (3810 SE Division Street), and try one of the tasty little sandwiches with a mess of truffle fries.

If Indian Food is what you are in the mood for, you are going to love Bollywood Theater (3010 SE Division Street), the result of Portland Chef Troy MacLarty’s explorations in India – his goal was to help his diners to experience the feeling of being in India, not only the deliciousness of their cuisine.

Adore treats? Take a trip to Italy at Pinolo Gelato (3707 SE Division Street), or to France at St. Honoré Boulangerie (3333 SE Division Street). Division Street also has a Salt & Straw location, if you are eager to try one of Portland’s most treasured delights (3345 SE Division Street).

Southeast Division Street has a distinct charm – many of its businesses are tucked into Craftsman-style houses, like Tibet A Gift (3848 SE Division Street) and The Serenity Shoppe (3212 SE Division Street). The Lompoc Hedge House (3412 SE Division Street), a location of one of Portland’s favorite brewpubs, is also in a Craftsman. Very Portland!

If you are really craving a taste of the true Portland experience, you are certain to enjoy the laid-back vibe of Southeast Division Street – come hungry!

Prices vary, but many items range between $5.00 and $15.00.
