Sat Jun 10 @ 07:15am - 10:45am

Join wild food educator John Kallas and learn how to find, dig, transport, clean, and prepare cockle clams as big as your fist during low tide.

Learn gathering regulations and limits. Learn how Native Americans gathered these same clams. Cockles are excellent for making clam chowder and flavoring clam sauces. An easy and fun adventure on the Oregon coast. Sliding scale $30-50 per adult, children pay their age, children under 7 are free.

For more information and to register visit our web site by clicking the button. Register early: walk-ons may be turned away if our size limit is reached. We'll meet at the Tillamook Safeway parking lot and travel on to the clamming location.

All: John Kallas, Ph.D. is a complete expert in wild foods and the author of acclaimed books on the topic. I highly recommend his Wild Food Adventures, and it's great he offers them on a sliding scale to make them more accessible.
