Vista Hot Air Balloon Adventures with Gourmet Brunch

How about taking in the beauty of Oregon’s wine country from the air? Vista Balloon is the Pacific Northwest’s largest and oldest hot air balloon company. The Newberg group has been shuttling visitors through Willamette Valley air thermals in state-of-the-art balloons for over 25 years. And every year from April through October (weather permitting) hundreds of travelers experience Oregon from thousands of feet in their air on their aircraft.

The company offers different kinds of events, including wine tours and wedding events. But many travelers try the scenic flight services.

The adventure begins at dawn at the Newberg launch location. Watch the massive balloon be inflated by a crew and safety checks take place as you get excited for the fun to come. Or, if you wish, you can join in and help with the inflating process!

Once the balloon is ready to go and all are aboard, FAA-licensed pilots launch the roughly one-hour flight. Depending on the direction the winds are blowing, you’ll see a variety of landscapes – the vineyard-covered hills of the Willamette Valley, the winding ribbon of the Willamette River, over 10 mountain peaks, and the lush landscape of the valley.

It’s a rare aerial view of a stunning landscape. Once the flight is over, a ground crew will meet the balloon, help passengers disembark, and deflate the balloon. Once again, there’s the option to stand by and admire the process, or to get involved and help the crew work.

And the adventure doesn’t end here – vans pick of travelers and take them back to the launch site for a gourmet brunch and a celebratory toast.

Cost per flight varies based on the package and the size of the group. Costs (including the flight and brunch) sit at roughly the following points for shared flights: $220 per person for 0-3 adults $199 per person for 4-9 $189 per person for 10+.

Children 12 and under are $145 per child. Note that while there’s not an age limit, passengers must be at least 44″ tall. For more information, details about flights, regulations, safety, special packages, and how to book, click through the “Book Now” button above.
