Kilchis Point Reserve along Tillamook Bay

We loved our recent visit to Kilchis Point Reserve, just off Highway 101 north of Tillamook. The beautiful paths through the forest out to Tillamook Bay were filled with birds, other wildlife, and pristine streams. Bring your binoculars if you have them!

The flat hike with boardwalks and bridges is accessible to all ages and abilities. A wonderful addition to the roughly 2-mile round-trip walk out through the estuary is 17 interpretive signs about the history and nature of the area. They were very interesting and educated us along the way. Everything was well-maintained, too, and there were basic restroom facilities in the parking area.

After our walk we had a delicious lunch at the Fish Peddler just up the road in Bay City at 5150 Hayes Oyster Drive. It wasn't fancy, but it was interesting to look into the connected fish processing facility, and the food was SOO good!

This looks and sounds like a wonderful place to explore Rick - we will have to make a plan to get over there!
