Nestled right near Mt. Hood, this unique Government Camp lodge retreat is the perfect destination for family reunions, business retreats, group ski getaways, or even photo shoots! With a private hot tub and sauna, six bedrooms (including four master suites and a family suite), multiple living areas and multiple decks surrounded by snow-dusted pine trees, there is plenty of space for up to 24 lucky guests in this luxurious mountain ski lodge.

Life is good on Mt. Hood, with plenty of opportunities for fun and excitement year-round. While the this lodge can sleep large groups comfortably, groups of any size will find this home spacious and relaxing, with beautiful Craftsman-style woodwork, granite counters, and wood floors providing rustic charm and luxury.

Once inside you will find a palatial great room with 15-foot vaulted ceilings and two stories of windows looking out onto the lovely Mt. Hood scenery. A wood burning stove gives the room extra coziness and provides a classic backdrop for post-skiing hot toddies and mugs of hot chocolate.

Right next to the great room is a dining area with a large, custom wood table with bench seating. There's also additional table seating upstairs, so a large group can be eating together downstairs, with smaller groups having their own dining spot just up the steps. In fact, this home can accommodate up to 24 guests (22 comfortably), so go ahead and bring your entire family!

A well-equipped kitchen is just off the dining room and has granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances (including an impressive range), and a large butcher block island. With plenty of room for your culinary projects, there's space for Grandma to give an impromptu cookie baking lesson, or the chef in your group to whip up a hearty post-snowshoeing meal to satisfy everyone in your group.

Throughout the house there are three master suites that have king sized beds, each with their own bathrooms. Another master suite has two queen beds, in addition to a en suite bathroom. A family suite has a queen bed and an adjoining room with a futon, and there is also a bunk room that sleeps six. Of course, each room is tastefully decorated and outfitted with comfy, warm bedding so everyone will be able to claim their favorite room. Two bedrooms are located downstairs, while the other four are upstairs, and there are six total bathrooms. This home is also pet friendly and welcomes one dog per group with a $10 per day fee ($40 minimum per stay).

On the upper level, you'll find a large open space that looks down over the great room. This area provides a lot of room for socializing as a group, yet the size of the house will also allow for a lot of privacy when desired. It's the best of both worlds!

On days when your group isn't out exploring the great outdoors, you'll have no problem finding entertainment here. You'll enjoy four flat screen TVs with cable, DVD players, a DVD library, stereo, CD player, WiFi, books to read, and board games to play. Other amenities include a laundry room with washer and dryer and even a sauna for post-adventure relaxation.

Out on the decks, there's outdoor furniture for lounging on warm, summer days. Bring a book and a glass of wine for a relaxing afternoon and enjoy the breathtaking views of Mt. Hood. You could also relax in the private hot tub and soak in the warm, bubbling water while watching the snow fall.

Winter activities easily accessible from this Mt. Hood vacation lodge include downhill skiing and snowboarding at Mt. Hood Skibowl (less than a mile away), snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. Timberline Lodge is also only six miles away.

Spring and summer fun include ski camps, hiking, biking, fishing, and golf. You're located right in historic Government Camp as well, so you can easily walk to restaurants, shops, and brew pubs. The Ice Axe Grill is right across the street for pints of Mt. Hood Brewing Company's Hogsback Oatmeal Stout and Multorporter BBQ pulled pork sandwiches. Or, if you prefer a more European meal, just down the main road is Glacier Haus Bistro for steins of both local and German beer, potato croquettes, pork belly pizza, and schnitzel.

Government Camp is definitely a year-round destination for fun, outdoor activities, and relaxing near the Mt Hood National Forest wilderness. Enjoy everything this magical area has to offer with a wonderful stay at the Great Blue Lodge - a beautiful, spacious vacation retreat, minutes to ski lifts, hiking trails, and historic downtown Government Camp!
