FREE Tours at Portland'5 Centers For The Arts

Want to learn about the rich performing arts scene in Portland? A FREE backstage tour of Portland'5 Centers For The Arts is a great place to start.

Yes, you read that right. The performing arts organization took a little artistic license with their apostrophe!

Five of Portland's most prolific theater venues are housed within Portland'5 Centers For The Arts' three buildings. From spectacular touring Broadway shows to established performing arts organizations such as Oregon Symphony, Oregon Ballet Theatre and Portland Opera to edgy community theater, a variety of performing arts groups present their creations in these five spaces.

On this fascinating hour-long tour, you can learn all about Keller Auditorium (not included on the walk, however), the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and the three performance spaces - the Dolores Winningstad Theatre, the Newmark Theatre and the Brunish Theatre - housed within Antoinette Hatfield Hall.

Ask your tour guide to show you where an episode of Grimm was filmed in the space, where there are stars on the ceiling and what a ghost light is!

Tours are Wednesdays at 1:00 pm and Saturdays every half hour from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Meet in the lobby of Antoinette Hatfield Hall at 1111 SW Broadway (SW Broadway and Main).

Warning: this tour will create an uncontrollable desire to go enjoy some performing arts shows!
