Antique Powerland Museum

Recall the era of steam and train whistles at the Antique Powerland Museum, located near the city of Brooks.

Technically it’s a consortium of 15 different museums and societies all with some connection to horsepower or transportation. They share the same space and purpose, which is to educate folks about the magnificent cars, equipment and engines that powered the past. Come visit to see a slew of exhibits – from bulldozers to train engines – and let them tell the story of an Oregon on the move.

Don’t expect everything to be in running condition (some of the pieces are 150 years old) but do expect to be wowed. And there’s a little something for everyone on these 62 acres, from history lessons, to glittering motorcycles, to entertainingly large hunks of equipment.

To really understand what the fuss is all about, drop by during the annual “Great Oregon Steam-Up” event during the last weekend in July and the first weekend in August. Thousands of visitors come by to see antique tractors pull sleds, hear lectures about various historic engines, and buy nifty items from the swap.

The Antique Powerland site is open from March 1 - Oct. 1, and is located half a mile west of Interstate 5 off of the Brooks exit 263.
