Jade International Night Market -- Southeast Portland

Move aside Pearl District – it’s time for the Jade District to grab the spotlight for a two-weekend night market that’s part festival, part food cart party, part cultural celebration.

The Jade International Night Market is a project generated by the community to unify its identity and share its cultural vibrancy with greater Portland.

Night markets are known as a center of social life throughout Asia, and the Jade International Night Market nods to this custom of this Southeast Portland community. Small businesses come together in this annual event to shed light on community issues, recognize the community diversity, and helps the area benefit economically.

The Jade International Night Market brings over 25,000 visitors to Southeast 82nd Ave each weekend it runs in August, so watch for details about next year's market. Expect heaps of food from all types of cuisines, sweet and savory alike. Look for cultural performances, artists, arts and crafts, and a beer garden. Vendors and local business will be selling their wares, and family-friendly activities will be provided.

The night market runs each year on two successive Saturdays in late August. This year it was on the 18th to 25th from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m, but stay tuned for news about the 2019 market. The event is always free and open to the public. Volunteers are welcome.

Find the events at Portland Community College Southeast Campus, 2305 SE 82nd Ave, Portland, OR 97216. There is free parking and bike racks. Visitors can also take the Division MAX Station and Trimet Bus Routes 4 and 72
