Founder Kyra Bussanich, being gluten intolerant, had a passion for baking and wanted it to taste good. At that time, most gluten free products tasted bland, Kyra wanted her cupcakes to taste like cake. After graduating from the Patisserie program at Le Cordon Bleu, she certified her home kitchen and started baking. One summer night, while watching "Cupcake Wars" on the Food Network, her husband insisted she try out for the show. She applied and during the following show, received a phone call. After submitting a 30 second video, by the next day, she was accepted.
Being a six-time contestant on Cupcake Wars - winning four and coming in second overall twice - Kyra has proven that gluten free can be just as delicious, if not tastier, than non-gluten free pastries.
Walking in I was greeted with a smile and a warm hello. With coffee in hand, I chose some delicious cupcakes to take home to my daughter, just recently diagnosed gluten intolerant. Of course I had to try them out myself, even this gluten glutton was highly satisfied! Located downtown Lake Oswego, 20 minutes south of Portland, just follow the signs to Lake Oswego and head to 6th and A avenue. Prices vary per item.
