I came to South Slough Reserve with a professional customer service background in both the private and public sectors. . I began my career at South Slough as a temporary Interpretive Aide which helped me to understand and recognize areas of volunteer need, as well as to gain a great respect and appreciation for the Reserve and the people who work and volunteer in such an extraordinary place. I schedule volunteer/intern training, coordinate Reserve staff involvement with volunteers/interns; and provide publicity for volunteer opportunities at the Reserve, and write grants in support of the internship program. Additionally, I act as a liaison with the South Slough’s non-profit affiliate organization, the Friends of South Slough (FOSS), for volunteer related activities. I partner with community organizations to coordinate South Slough and community events/fundraisers. Finally, I maintain the organization and storage of records and recommend policies and rules governing the Reserve’s volunteer/intern program.
