He has performed prolifically in the Northwest since he moved to the region in 2005. Born in Lafayette, Louisiana and classically trained, kerin fell in love with the piano music of New Orleans such as Dr. John, Professor Longhair and James Booker. kerin also performed blues music with Harry Hypolite, the former guitarist for Zydeco great Clifton Chenier. Steve’s old-school-blues journey with Harry culminated in a performance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival’s blues tent in 2005. He has performed, toured or recorded with a who’s-who of artists including the Neville brothers, Anita Baker, Jeff lobber.
