Portland entertainer Tony Starlight will pay special tribute to Sir Elton John later this month in honor of the pop artist’s 70th birthday. The one-night only show will take place on Saturday, March 25 at 8pm at the Tony Starlight Showroom, 1125 SE Madison St. Doors will open at 6pm for dinner, or 7pm for the show only.
“Along with the great lyrics of Bernie Taupin, Elton John created and performed some of the best pop music the world has ever known,” explained Starlight. “It’s only fitting to celebrate this flamboyant superstar’s 70th trip around the sun with a musical extravaganza.”
Tony Starlight and his AM Gold Seventies Soft Rock Band will perform two sets: the first will feature Elton John and Bernie Taupin classics, including “Your Song,” “Rocket Man,” “Benny and The Jets,” “Crocodile Rock,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Daniel,” “Honky Cat,” “Philadelphia Freedom,” “Candle in the Wind,” and the ‘80s hit, “I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues.” The second set will feature Tony Starlight’s hit AM Gold show, highlighting soft rock hits from the AM dial; the show is best described as a big campfire sing-along, K-Tel style!
Tickets, which include a three-course dinner and the show, cost $74 for a premier assigned seat, or $64 for a standard assigned seat. Show only tickets cost $30 and are general seating. Tickets are available at TonyStarlight.com.
Guests can expect Starlight to make a spectacle of the event with multimedia video presentations and plenty of humor. Fans of Starlight’s wildly popular Neil Diamond Tribute will be happy to see another spectacular show experience added to the list of regular events at the Tony Starlight Showroom.
